The MEanING of Life? Happy 7th ‘November 4th’ - Opennessence Day
The ‘me’ an(d) ‘ing’ of life …self and action
ME — and — doing and being
There are three possible ways to answer this:
Inspiration- life’s meaning is discovered as coming from an external source that flows to us. Don’t be fooled by those who say that inspiration can come from within, for the actual meaning of ‘inspiration’ is exactly the opposite. If you think it can, then you are thinking of the word/way that is next.
Intuition- Life’s meaning is created as source of experience and understanding flowing from us. If you think meaning comes from the rational, then you will be sorely hurt to know that the rational can tell us ‘what is’ but not ‘why’ it matters to us. Rational always turns to the right (the what), but intuition is a turn to the left - our self made ‘why.’ Gravity makes the ball fall, but ‘basketball’ makes us shot it up into a hoop - and that is not rational, it is FUN.
Irrational- Life is a meaningless-nihilistic-existential flood drowning us. If one believes/perceives no openness can be given for ‘play and fun’, then ‘all reality’ is merely rule-driven processes that are without ‘elevated’ life [if] meaning. There is no hope in the possible, probable, or purpose. It is funny that fun is irrational in its own way, and it can beget its own emergent meaning/purpose by a creative intuition that motivates our playful lives and actions. A hopeless irrationality cannot see any meaning in fun and its despondent and lethargic state stunts our ability to see a ‘why,’ meaning, or fun.
